These letters are found everywhere, from shopping malls to storefront exteriors. Channel letters and logos are clear and distinct during the day, but really stand out at night thanks to the use of creative illumination. They can be illuminated by either neon or LED’s. The new LED’s are up to 80% more energy efficient than standard neon tubes, resulting in lower energy cost.
The most common types of Channel letters are:
Reverse Channel: Channel letters are built so that light shines out the back of the letter, washing the mounting surface with light. This manner of lighting generates a halo of light around the letters. This can provide a very striking appearance and a clean, architectural look.
Standard or Closed face: The front of the letter is covered with coloured Plexiglas and the light shows through the plastic.
